Pet of the week - Felbound Wolf

It's Saturday again so it's time for the pet of the week. This time I won't be talking about pets from previous expansion. This time we will talk about a pet from the the patch 6.2 - Felbound Wolf.

This is a new skin for the Draenor wolf model. It looks awesome (my opinion) and even now many of my friends want to get it for matching their transmog.

To be able to tame this beast you will need to obtain Vial of Fel Cleansing from Fel Rangari Anaara.

After that you must use the vial on a Felbound Wolf to cleanse it and then tame it.

Pet of the week - Arcturis

I'm starting a post series about interesting Hunter pets in WOW. With so many expansions there are a lot of cool pets that are forgotten. The purpose of this series will be to reveal those pets to you and maybe help you find a suitable pet for your new transmog.

The first pet that I'm going to talk about is Arcturis - the spirit beast bear.

Arcturis is a level 74 spirit beast found in Grizzly Hills. He is the only spirit beast that looks like a bear.

You need to be a Beast master hunter to be able to tame him.The reports are that his spawn time is 21 hours, but some comment say that it's between 6 and 72 hours.

Below you can see the spawn location of Arcturis. As you will se the location is only one and the area is quite small. You will be able to see people waiting for him at this spot all the time.

There is no doubt that this is one very interesting and beautiful pet. You can use it for many transmog sets. I can't say that Arcturis is forgotten pet, but I think he is a very good start for those series.
If you need any tips about how to get him, don't hesitate to ask your questions in the comments below.

See you until next Saturday when I will post about another interesting hunter pet.

Guide to hunter pets in Warlords of Draenor by WOW Insider

As you may expect the best Warlords Hunter pets guide is made by WOW Insider. I just want to share this post, because the information is very important for every hunter who will play WOD.

"Warlords of Draenor is introducing five new hunter pet families -- hydras, riverbeasts, stags, clefthooves (exotic), and rylaks (exotic). That brings the grand total to 48 pet families. Many pet abilities have also been changed to fit the buff and debuff changes in Warlords. Exotic pets are more differentiated from standard pets in that they all have a total of three special abilities or buffs instead of just one or two. You'll be able to start taming pets from the new families with patch 6.0.2 (except for riverbeasts and rylaks which only exist in Draenor)."

Warlords of Draenor Beta: New hunter pets

Warning !!! Warlords of Draenor info !

Finally some fresh Hunter posts from WoW Insider . This time the topic is WOD hunter pets. As it seems there are going to be two new pet families: clefthooves and stags(talbuks).
Here is the info from WoW Insider:

"Bendak over at Eyes of the Beast has been doing excellent work over the course of the beta, and one of the things he's discovered is a big expansion to an existing pet family and the creation of an entirely new family - the rhino family has been renamed the clefthooves family (you can see Bendak above with one he tamed) and it now includes all the Outland and Draenor clefthooves in addition to rhinos from Azeroth, and there's a new family called the Stag family, which includes all Azerothian stags and the Talbuks from Outland and Draenor."

That's the Spirit !

Spirit beasts are one of the things that attract hunters to play the BM spec. I'm not a Spirit beast fanatic, but I like them a lot. I even have few of them. But I have to admit that I've killed Skoll few years ago....for the achievement of course.

I know that there are many guides/posts/articles about Spirit beasts, but the truth is that I don't have one. That's why I'm making this short post about them.I hope that my view will be useful to you.

Spirit beasts are part of the Ferocity pet family. They have number of abilities that could be very useful in many situations. This combination of abilities makes them ideal for PVP and for PVE.

Spirit Beast abilities:

There are nine spirit beasts(three different colors for the porcupine) to choose from. All are rare spawns and some even have elaborate taming processes like Ban'thalos.

Ankha is one of the spirit cats that wander around in Mount Hyjal. The important thing about her is that you need to remove all of you armor because of her Spirit Claw ability.

Arcturis is the only bear spirit beast. He has very small and specific spawn place in Grizzly Hills and for me he is quite easy to get, if you check the spawn place regularly. Arcturis doesn't have any special abilities and thats why you don't need any tactic for taming him.

Ban'thalos in a owl spirit beast and he can be found in  Mount Hyjal. As this is one of the trickiest pets to tame, I will give you a link to video guide. I found this video based on it's views ,but you can check out youtube for other methods. Video guide HERE.

There are three different spirit porcupine models. Degu is the red colored spirit porcupine. He can be found at the Krasarang Wilds. The key information here is that Degu must be below 30% to be tamed. The best tactic for him is kitting, because he hits very, very hard. This information is also applied for the other spectral porcupines - Gumi and Hutia.
Location.
Gumi is the Blue version of the spirit porcupines. He can be found in Kun-Lai Summit. The tactic for him is the same as the tactic for Degu.
Location.
Hutia is the green spirit porcupine. He or she can be found in The Jade Forest. The different thing here is that Hutia has a heal ability called -Spirit Heal , but it's interruptible.

Ghostcrawler is a spirit crab beast found in the Abyssal Depths. Because he is also a tricky pet to tame, I'm going to post a link to a video guide for taming him. Check out the video guide HERE.

Gondria is a purple skinned spirit cat. She can be found in Zul'Drak and she is only 77lvl. That's why you won't have any problems taming her if you are above 80lvl.

Karoma is one of the two spirit wolfs that can be tamed. The skin of Karoma is the same model as the shaman spirit wolf. She can be tamed in the  Twilight Highlands.

Loque'nahak is the first spirit beast (I'm not 100% sure about that, but I think that I've read it somewhere). He can be found in the  Sholazar Basin ,but he has multiple spawn places and he is part of the rare achievement. This makes him very hard to get.

Magria is the last of the spirit cats that can be tamed. She shares spawning place with Ankha (in Mount Hyjal). Magria also share the tactic- "important thing about her is that you need to remove all of you armor because of her Spirit Claw ability."

Skoll is the other spirit wolf that we can use for a pet. He spawns at The Storm Peaks. You won't need any tactic for him, but you should act fast, because he usually is killed/tamed very fast by the lots of people who wander The Storm Peaks looking for the Time Lost Proto-drake.

So this is the short info-post about the spirit beast that can be tamed in WOW. I think that this can be useful for every new hunter, who is thinking about becoming a beast master. The good thins is that now in MoP we can stable up to 50 pets and this gives us the chance to gather all of the spirit beast, while still keeping our other pets.

I really hope that in Warlords of Draenor, there will be something new for us hunters. Maybe some of the new things will be more tamable spirit beasts. I hope so ! I also hope that you find this post useful and interesting.

If you have a favorite spirit beast feel free to share it with me in the comments below.

Pet of the month - Rexy (Devilsaur)

I don't have many pets ,but I love and use all of them. This is the reason why I'm going to make posts named "Pet of the month". I will talk about one of my pet, why and how do I use it.

My first post will be about Rexy - my Devilsaur. He was my first exotic pet and I can say that since I play BM in PVP, he is my favorite pet for PVP.

Here are some facts about devilsaurs:
Devilsaur are a family of exotic Ferocity pets in World of Warcraft. Devilsaur, through use of their  Terrifying Roar ability, can increase the critical strike chance of all party and raid members by 5%. This makes them a good choice in raids when player-provided buffs such as Leader of the Pack or  Honor Among Thieves are not available. They also have a special exotic ability,  Monstrous Bite, which reduces the effectiveness of any healing received by the target by 10% for 8 seconds, like  Mortal Strike.

Abilities:

I believe that every BM hunter has his Rexy, because devilsaurs are so awesome.
To Rexy I want to say - Thank you for the monstrous support through all those battles !

HuntsmansLodge: Memorable WoW Moments: Mist Howler

Well I was reading all of the Hunter blogs that I'm following and I can say that the post in HuntsmansLodge is the post of the week. It is about some of the old rare hunter pets and specially about Mist Howler (rare wolf).
I respect people who remember the classic thing in WOW and that's why I think that this post deserves a lot of attention.

"These days Mist Howler is nothing special, apart from him being a rare spawn, but back in the day he was a prized pup. Mist Howler was one of the few pets available with a very fast attack speed, which was most beneficial for caster interrupts in PvP. There were a handful of faster pets, but Mist Howler was one of the few wolves with the fast attack speed, plus he was the only FAS wolf with the “wolf” model, as opposed to the “worg” look. How you should treat your pet

This is a just a simple "guide" of how we hunters should treat our pets...or maybe it is more accurate to say how we shouldn't  treat our pets. I think that our trusted companions deserve more appreciation and respect and I think that we all should follow the simple rules that I'm going to write. Ok lets start with them...

  1. Don't leave your pet without a name....- it is very sad to see a pet with its default name..."Boar" or "Cat"....... you pet is not a slave...it's your friend. As your friend it deserves a name.
  2. Don't give your pet a retarded name ! - If you name your pet " Rafhshs" it's even worse than "Boar" or "Cat".
  3. Feed you pet from time to time. - Years ago this was very important , but now people even forget about it.
  4. Turn off Growl in instances . - You will not only save your pet from certain death, but you also won't get kicked from the party.
  5. Use as much of your pets as you can. - You don't have only one pet and all of them need love and....walks. So don't leave them in the stable for months. Oh and in case that you don't know different pets are good for different things, so use them...don't try to PVP with a turtle..
  6. Respect your pet ! For the true hunter , pets are one of the main reasons to choose the path of the hunter in Azeroth.
I know that those things may seem very....stupid and unimportant ,but the really annoy me. One of the talents in Warlords of Draenor will remove the hunter pets ( I'm talking about With or Without you talent)... I think that choosing this talent will change the whole hunter gameplay...and it will change it in a bad direction.

This is only my opinion ,but anyway you should all follow the six rules of "How to make your pet happy ! ".
I hope that you enjoy the post and I'll be happy to read your comments below. Keep hunting !

Becoming friends...

The Brew Hall : Shot of the Week: Beast Lore

The Brew Hall series continue. This time the post is about Beast Lore.

This week I’m digging deep into the spell book and presenting you with our unique ability, Beast Lore. That’s right, Beast Lore. I know it’s not a DPS ability, and I get that it’s not something you use often, if at all. Read more.

I was so close to kill Lil' Oondasta..

I made some raid finders this night and I'm very happy with my new Chest item from the set. After the raiding I thought that it is a good idea to give Lil' Oondasta another chance. I've tryed to kill her several times ,but not with the right pet combination. So now I have my 2 lvl 25 mechanical pets. As you know they make bonus damage against beasts( Lil' Oondasta). The third pet in my team was a black whelpling ,because for now I don't have another 25 lvl mechanical pet.

In the previous battles, she didn't gave me a chance ,but today I was very, very close. You will see on the screenshots below that in the end she had 23 health....

I'm going to make a video of the killing ,but first I must make the kill. I think that with three mechanical pets it would be easy to defeat her. Wish me luck and soon I will let you know what happened.

Here I was about to make my final move...

aaand bad luck for me ... :(

I think that all hunters know which are the new tipes of pets that MoP will add. More interesting for me will be which of the new pets is goind to be the most popular and the most often used.

It's not only my opinion that in MoP the BM hunters are the best choice for PVP and maybe even for PVE.But the two new BM pets (Quilen and Water Strider) are not very useful in PVP , I wonder what will be the most common pet from the other new...
